This is impressive on all levels. It is believed that an average Facebook user spends close to 16 hours per month on Facebook and it uses Facebook for friendship, business and informative purposes (Facebook is the ultimate rumor mill).

And even though Facebook users spend so much time on Facebook, your posts go unnoticed, right?

Well, it is about time you do something about it!

Most Successful Engagement Tips

Tip 1: Keep it short!

People use Facebook for positivity, relaxation, to catch up with old friends or to promote something. Theye do not want to read novels, so when you post something, keep the text under 80 characters.

Tip 2: Emoticons Trigger Reaction

Whenever an emoticon is present in a Facebook post, people are compelled to comment, so make sure you spend one of those 80 characters for one emoticon.

Yes, quotes are cliché, but we all seem to be attracted to them like bees to honey. So, if you are looking for a ways of quick increased engagement, use a quote.

Just make sure to credit the author. Even better, make a cute photo, embed the quote on it and upload it on Facebook.

This move will warrant you 26% more likes and 19% more shares!

Facebook-TimingYou can have the best post, ask the most interesting question, use the cutest emoticon, but if you miss the perfect timing, it is all to no avail.

If you really want to trigger a response from your targeted audience, then please note that posts shared on Thursday and Friday get 18% higher engagement.

Also, posts shared on weekends get 32% higher engagement compared to rest of the days of the week.

Facebook posts posted round 1 pm, (when people are on their lunch breaks) get the most shares, while posts posted around 3 pm get most clicks (people are being creative and trying to get through to 5 pm, when it is time to go home).

Never post around 5 pm, because people are either driving or trying to get home as fast as they can!

Know thy content!

Timing is everything, but also content plays role in the level of engagement rate.

Sex, Positivity, Learning, Technology and Social Media, Food and Drink, Travel, Movies and Television, Arts and Music, Health and Sport and Fashion and Shopping are the hottest topics, the most shared topics on Facebook.
